AIESEC in UGM Holds Global Village Summer Peak 2026, Celebrating World Cultural Diversity in “Celestial Mosaic: A Universe of Cultures”

AIESEC in UGM once again hosted Global Village Summer Peak 2026 at Taman Budaya Embung Giwangan, Yogyakarta, on Saturday, 25 July 2026. Carrying the theme “Celestial Mosaic: A Universe of Cultures,” the international cultural festival invited hundreds of participants to explore cultural diversity from around the world while fostering the values of tolerance and global understanding. The event began with a Roll Dance, followed by the Exchange Participant Parade, where international participants showcased their traditional attire, before continuing with the opening remarks and an introduction to the Global Village and Global Volunteer programmes. The atmosphere grew even livelier with a performance of the local dance Niskala Dwipantara by BSO Sasoebah UGM before participants visited seven international booths featuring unique cultural experiences through traditional food, clothing, games, languages, and stories about everyday life in each represented country. Participants also wore batik as a way of appreciating and introducing Indonesian culture to the international delegates. read more

AIESEC in UGM Takes Action for the Ocean Through Mangrove Planting at Pantai Baros

AIESEC in UGM brought its commitment to coastal environmental conservation to life through the first major activity of the Aquatica project, a mangrove planting action at Pantai Baros, Yogyakarta, on July 21, 2026. Aquatica is one of AIESEC in UGM’s projects under the Incoming Global Volunteer (IGV) division, focused on marine conservation efforts in alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14, Life Below Water, established in 2015. The project involved Exchange Participants from eight countries alongside Local Volunteers, making it a cross-cultural collaboration that simultaneously delivered real environmental impact. Through Aquatica, AIESEC in UGM reaffirms its role in raising awareness among young people about the importance of protecting Indonesia’s marine and coastal ecosystems. read more

UGM Archery Student Club Successfully Hosts UGM Open Archery Championship Series 3 2026, Drawing 520 Athletes from 97 Clubs Across Indonesia

UGM’s Archery Student Club successfully hosted the UGM Open Archery Championship (UOAC) Series 3 from July 8 to 12, 2026, at Pancasila Stadium, UGM. The open archery championship drew an outstanding level of participation, with 520 athletes representing 97 clubs from various provinces across Indonesia. Participants competed in 45 team events and 60 mixed team events, making UOAC Series 3 one of the largest university archery competitions ever held within a campus setting at UGM. The successful staging of this national-scale competition reflects the professional capacity of UGM’s Archery Student Club as an organizer, while firmly establishing UGM as a recognized center for archery development at the national level. read more

UGM Judo UKM Secures 4 Medals at International Judo Championship – Tiang Bendera Open 2026

UGM’s Judo Student Club once again delivered a commendable performance at the International Judo Championship – Tiang Bendera Open 2026, held in Yogyakarta on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The competition is an international-level event bringing together participants from various universities and educational institutions, aimed at fostering interest and talent in judo among students and young people, while also serving as a benchmark for athletes preparing to advance to higher-level competitions. Competition categories were divided by age and weight class to ensure fair and competitive matches for all participants. At this event, the UGM Judo contingent secured a total of four medals, comprising one silver and three bronze. read more
