Universitas Gadjah Mada’s Photography Student Activity Unit (UFO) has once again successfully held a photography exhibition titled ‘Temukan Makna’. The exhibition that lasted for three days, Friday-Sunday, November 8-10, presented various photographic works with the big theme ‘Kelana’. Held at Galeri Lorong, Kasihan, Bantul, this exhibition brought visitors to interpret more deeply the stories and journeys of human life while raising various forgotten issues. “Our work raises issues that are actually very important, but forgotten in society. Such as posters on the streets, garbage piled up in places that are not their function, rice fields that are eroded by land conversion, and the uncertain fate of fishermen on the south coast,” explained Fatimah Azzahrah, Chairman of the Exhibition Committee.
Yogyakarta, October 2, 2024 – In commemoration of Batik Day, the Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Difabel Care along with the Directorate of Student Affairs and the Directorate of Community Service of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) visited the handicraft of written batik at Difabelzone, Nglarang, Bantul. This activity was the beginning of UGM’s collaboration with the Difabelzone community. This is in line with UGM’s commitment as an inclusive campus as well as part of UGM’s contribution in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the aim of increasing decent jobs and economic growth and also reducing inequality.
The Rector Cup UGM VI National Table Tennis Tournament which took place on September 13-15, 2024 at GOR Pancasila UGM has been successfully held. This prestigious event attracted 350 participants from all over the country, ranging from young athletes, students, to senior athletes.
With a variety of age ranges from 8 to 65 years old, this tournament is a proving ground for table tennis enthusiasts to hone their skills and to attain achievements. In addition, the Rector Cup UGM VI is also a place for young athletes to feel the real atmosphere of competition. The success of Rector Cup UGM VI cannot be separated from the extraordinary enthusiasm of the participants. As many as 47 universities from various regions in Indonesia participated in this event. This shows that table tennis is increasingly in demand among students.
Student Activity Unit (UKM) Pencak Silat Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has once again made the alma mater proud in the national arena. In the National Championship of Pencak Silat Commissariat of Military Academy 2024 which took place at GOR Soeroto, Magelang, on September 20-22, 2024, UGM athletes won 12 medals and were crowned the 3rd grand champion.
This brilliant achievement is the result of hard work and high dedication of all members of Pencak Silat UGM. They managed to show their quality and ability in various categories, both sparring and art. The success of Pencak Silat UGM in winning the 3rd grand champion in this championship cannot be separated from their dominance in various categories of competition. Both in the sparring and art categories, UGM athletes were able to show mature techniques and strategies.
