The vibrant coral reefs of Karimunjawa once again played host to a milestone in the legacy of UKM Selam UGM (UGM Dive Club), as the student diving unit conducted its 35th Open Water Training (Latihan Perairan Terbuka/LPT XXXV), a pinnacle event that marks both the culmination of training and a vital step toward certification for aspiring divers.

Held from May 11 to 15, 2025, this year’s LPT was more than a certification program. It was a rite of passage for the new divers, blending hands-on learning with deep appreciation for Indonesia’s marine ecosystems. The event welcomed 47 student trainees, guided by four instructors, including two distinguished alumni, who will lead them through their first journey into the underwater world. read more

Yogyakarta – On Wednesday (22/1/2025), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its Directorate of Student Affairs, in partnership with PT Bayan Resources Tbk, officially awarded the “Bayan Peduli” scholarships to 40 students from the Class of 2024. The ceremony, held in Multimedia Room 1 of UGM’s Central Office, included the signing of contracts by the scholarship recipients and representatives from PT Bayan Resources Tbk. The scholarship program offers extensive support, covering tuition fees, living allowances, accommodation, and final project research expenses for eight semesters. The U-FOLUNTEER activity is the initiation of the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD) of the UGM Photography Student Activity Unit (UFO) in the context of community service. This time, U-FOLUNTEER was held on Monday, December 16, 2024 with the aim of increasing the awareness of UFO UGM members to environmental issues around the community and trying to support education for children in coastal areas.  With the theme “Cleaning the Beach and Donating Books for Children”, UFO UGM collaborates with Garduaction based on the similarity of the vision and mission of this year’s U-FOLUNTEER service, namely the waste problem. read more

One of the prestigious events in the national chess world, the Rector Cup UGM 2024 Championship, has been successfully held on Sunday, December 15, 2024. The competition was organized by UGM Chess Student Activity Unit at the Gelanggang Inovasi dan Kreativitas UGM Building.

“This championship is a form of Universitas Gadjah Mada’s commitment to encourage the birth of talented chess athletes at the national level.
