UGM Swimming Club once again brought pride to Universitas Gadjah Mada on the national stage by securing65 medals at the 2026 Invitasi Cabang Olahraga Permainan Mahasiswa, organized by the Youth and Sports Agency (Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga/Dispora) of DKI Jakarta. The competition took place on September 9–10, 2026, at Kolam Renang Bulungan, DKI Jakarta. The event drew 1,114 participants consisting of 924 student athletes and 190 officials from 104 universities spread across 18 provinces in Indonesia, including West Java, Yogyakarta, Central Java, West Sumatra, Riau, Lampung, Bali, Central Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Aceh, Jambi, West Nusa Tenggara, North Sumatra, and Banten. The intense competition among athletes from across the country made every medal secured a remarkable achievement.
The UGM Swimming Club contingent delivered an impressive performance, claiming a total of 2 gold medals and 4 bronze medals throughout the competition. Eiffelyn Karinza Kumarta (Psychology 2025) proved to be the most prolific athlete, winning three medals: gold in the 200-meter Butterfly, along with bronze in both the 100-meter Butterfly and the 50-meter Butterfly. Ridho Fadhurrohman (Psychology 2025) contributed a gold medal in the 50-meter Breaststroke, while Auliya Khairunnisa’ (FKKMK 2025) claimed bronze in the 200-meter Breaststroke. These five medals reflect the competitive depth of UGM Swimming Club’s athletes across a wide range of events.
In addition to the individual event medals, UGM Swimming Club also claimed a bronze medal in the Women’s 4×100-meter Medley Relay. This prestigious relay event was contested by four UGM female athletes: Anindya Haza Larizquna Minnafadin (Faculty of Agriculture 2025), Eiffelyn Karinza Kumarta (Psychology 2025), Auliya Khairunnisa’ (FKKMK 2025), and Azwa Narindra Maharani (FISIPOL 2024). The relay team’s success highlights UGM Swimming Club’s ability to build strong teamwork alongside individual athletic capability. The synergy among the four athletes stands as evidence that development within UGM Swimming Club extends beyond individual performance to encompass cohesion in team events.
These achievements are expected to serve as motivation and inspiration for all members of UGM Swimming Club to continue training diligently and raising their performance in future competitions. The success of UGM athletes in competing against thousands of athletes from dozens of universities across Indonesia demonstrates that the development program run by UGM Swimming Club is firmly on the right track.
