Having 1st Place Business Plan Presentation, Top 5 Engineering Design, Top 10 Cost and Manufacturing, along with other achievements in all branches of the competition in Formula SAE Italy 2023 as their target motivates the team members to make Indonesia proud. In the previous year, Bimasakti succeeded in becoming the first Student Formula Team from Indonesia to compete in Europe and achieved several titles in the Formula Student Netherlands 2022. The achievements include The Golden Fighter Award and 1st Place Business Plan Presentation. This year, all team members confidently set higher targets to show love and devotion to the nation. “Bimasakti Racing Team will return to compete in Formula Student Italy 2023, we would like to express gratitude to those who keep supporting us. We have prepared all the necessary preparations for Formula Student Italy. We put our thoughts, energy, and time into making Indonesia known internationally for its potential. This competition would be a great place to prove that Indonesia is capable of competing with other countries. We kindly ask you to keep supporting Bimasakti so that we can win achievements in Formula Student Italy,” said the captain of the 12th Generation Bimasakti Team, Yosh Alfaninata.
Formula Student Italy is one of the student formula competition series organized by SAE International and ATA (Associazione Tecnica dell’Autoveicolo). This competition is an annual competition participated by several countries in Europe, such as Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, as well as countries outside Europe, such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Based on the Formula Student World Ranking, Formula Student Italy has a higher level of competition compared to the competitions that Bimasakti participated in the previous year, which was Formula Student Netherlands. There are two events in this competition, namely the dynamic event that is directly related to cars including speed, strength, and skidpad, and the static event that consists of cost event and business plan. In the business plan, Bimasakti Team successfully passed stage 2 and will advance to stage 3 in Italy.
It has been 12 years since Bimasakti Team was formed, and for the first time the Bimasakti Pegadaian Racing Team is competing with a very attractive livery, a hand-painted livery resulted from a collaboration between PT Bintang Chemical Indonesia (Belkote Paints) and Radja TJ Studio. As the first student formula team to use a hand-painted livery, this livery design was custom-made and took about two months to make, making this hand-painted livery very special for Bimasakti Team history. In order to serve a high-quality performance, 4 design principles were used: Lightweight, through Bodywork and Aerodynamic Devices made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRPs), and downsizing the wheels to 16 inches. Fast engine performance enhancement through good and measurable design, simulation, and validation stages. Efficient, through the use of adjustable fuel mapping. Ergonomics, where the cockpit is adjusted directly to the driver’s posture. That is the advantage of this year’s manufacturing process which certainly will encourage the Bimasakti Pegadaian Racing Team to keep accelerating forward and make Indonesia proud!
