The Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) is an annual student competition in robotics design and engineering fields participated by students at tertiary institutions in the Republic of Indonesia, from various ministries/institutions or government agencies, which are recorded on the Higher Education Database. KRI is organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI) National Achievements Center (Puspresnas) Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia.
This prestigious national-level competition is going to be held at the University of Semarang from 21 to 26 June 2023. The steps taken to reach the National KRI were long. Previously, the team had carried out proposal selection, field infrastructure checking and testing selection, robot preparation, camera placement and team lighting, regional level selection, and finally the current national-level Indonesian Robot Contest participation.
“Hopefully, Gadjah Mada Robotic Team can make the university proud through all the various long processes that have been taken. We also hope it can be a good way to perform creativity in the national event,” said Dr. Sindung, the Director of Student Affairs, in his remarks at the KRI 2023 Team Release..

Bimasakti is back this year with a new logo, name, and support. This first Student Formula Team in Indonesia is ready to make UGM proud and raise the Indonesian flag in the international event. Bimasakti with its brand new image is ready to represent Indonesia in the Formula SAE Italy 2023 which will be held at the Riccardo Paletti Circuit, Varano ‘de Melegari, Italy from 12 to 16 July 2023. The team of 32 people succeeded in releasing the BM-12; a formula car designed for a year on Friday, 16 June 2023, at the Smart and Green Learning Center (SGLC) Building, Faculty of Engineering, Gadjah Mada University, attended by the Secretary Director of the Directorate of Student Affairs, Gadjah Mada University, Dr. Hempri Suyatna, S.Sos., M.Si, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Faculty of Engineering UGM, Dr. Ir. Sugeng Sapto Surjono, S.T., M.T., IPU ASEAN Eng, Bimasakti Team advisors, sponsors, and fellow students at Gadjah Mada University.
Always craving for more achievements, UGM MUN Community won another international and national achievements in the second quarter of this year. On this occasion, UGM MUN Community sent a delegation to an international conference, the Singapore Model United Nations 2023 (SMUN 2023) which was held on 6-9 June 2023 by the National University of Singapore. Lamtiar Nauli Sabrina M. N. (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences 2022) led the delegation consisted of five members from various faculties, namely Muhammad Rafi Prawira G. (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences 2021), Ananda Salman Alfarezi (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science 2021), Asma Ningrum Abdurrahman (Faculty of Psychology 2022), Fideline Abbygail Zefanya (Faculty of Law 2022), and Muhammad Abdillah (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences 2022). They managed to gain four awards, namely Verbal Commendation and Best Position Paper achieved by Muhammad Abdillah at the Arab League Council, Verbal Commendation achieved by Lamtiar Nauli Sabrina M. N. at the United Nations Environmental Assembly, and Honorable Mention achieved by Asma Ningrum Abdurrahman at the World Health Association. These achievements were successfully obtained through their high dedication, as well as continuous support from the internal UGM MUN Community and external parties such as Blueray Cargo, PT. Adhi Karya, PT. Migas Utama Jabar, PT BWK, and Bank BJB for Singapore MUN 2023.
UGM student team brought victory in the national level English debate competition “2023 National University Debating Championship (NUDC)” which was held at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, Serang, Banten on 5-12 June 2023. The UGM delegation at NUDC 2023 consisted of 2 debaters, namely Ryan Kusnadi (Faculty of Engineering 2020) and Anak Agung Gde Satwika Ananta (Faculty of Law 2020), and 1 N1 adjudicator, namely Jason Valentino Samvero (Faculty of Law 2021). The UGM NUDC debate team won 1st place at the national level.
